Your Segway tour begins at the crown jewel of Austin – the Texas State Capitol Building. The capitol campus is huge and takes up close to 9 city blocks. After gliding around the capitol and government district, your Segway tour makes its way down Congress Ave. From there, your Segway tour-guide will lead you to several picturesque and historic sites in downtown Austin including the oldest cathedral in Austin, St Mary’s Cathedral, the charming and haunted Driskill Hotel, and then down to world famous 6th street. Our Historic Downtown and Capitol Segway tour cruises to some of downtown Austin’s most historic sites and landmarks. Your tour begins at the crown jewel of Austin – the Texas State Capitol Building. The capitol campus is huge and takes up close to 9 city blocks. After gliding around the capitol and government district, your tour makes its way down Congress Ave. Your Segway tour-guide will point out some local places of interest such as the Paramount Theatre. Next, your Segway tour takes you to the live music district and world famous 6th street, while at the same time, you’ll learn about the beautiful but haunted Driskill hotel. Other sites visited include the Austin Convention Center, the trendy warehouse district, and then window shopping thru the new and up-and-coming 2nd street district. Your Austin Segway Tour continues to scenic Lady Bird lake, where you are treated to spectacular views of our Austin skyline from Auditorium Shores. Moving on, we zoom across the Lamar Street foot bridge and venture through the new Seaholm district as we explore some of West Austin. To complete your Austin Segway tour, your tour-guide will lead you to the Texas governor’s mansion and end with some great photo opportunities of our beautiful Capitol building. There is nothing more fun than exploring the Texas State Capitol Building at night on an Austin Segway Tour. Glide around the Texas State Capitol Building and explore much of the downtown government district as the sun starts to set. Next, your tour guide will lead you into the core of downtown via Congress Ave. Austin is a city known for its nightlife, so on this Segway tour, you will get a chance to visit many of downtown Austin’s live music areas and learn about some of Austin’s haunted past. You will see famous sites including the Moon Light Towers – some of the last remaining in the USA, and hear a story about of one of America’s first serial killers (was Jack the Ripper really from Austin?). Along the way, you will visit world famous 6th street just as the music venues are getting going, and your tour will hear about the haunted and historic Driskill Hotel. From there, your Austin Segway tour will visit one of Texas’ most haunted bars – Speakeasy on Congress. All this while you are treated to beautiful views of our Austin skyline at night from Lady Bird lake. * From March to October, this Segway tour will take a break to watch the world’s largest urban bat colony take flight from Congress Avenue Bridge. Austin Segway tours is conveniently one block west of the Texas state capitol building in downtown Austin. Our store front faces 12th street, and is located between Lavaca Street and Guadalupe Street in downtown Austin. From the north, please take 15th street and turn south on Guadalupe, then turn left on 12th. From the south, please take 11th street and turn north on Lavaca, then turn left on 12th street.The largest landmark near us in the Texas state capitol building.

Parking

The easiest place to park for Austin Segway tours on 12th Street between Lavaca Street and Guadalupe Street, which is one block west of the Texas state capitol building. Please arrive about 15 minutes before your scheduled Segway tour time and wear comfortable sneakers. Please no large back-packs or purses and dress appropriately. Parking in Austin, Texas is free on Sundays and after 6:00 PM the rest of the week.

Restrictions

Minimum age is 14 years old and minimum weight requirement is 100 pounds. Maximum weight of 275 pounds. Pregnant guests please refrain from participating. Guests should be able to climb stairs without assistance and stand for at least 1 hour. Guests will receive group Segway training as well as individual training. Guests will be provided with a helmet and must fill out a liability waiver form. Riders under 18 must have a parent sign waiver and at least one parent or guardian be on tour with them.

Such an amazing tour or Austin. The tour guides name is Bryan Deutsch, he was very funny and educational. He was very personable and relatable. In the beginning of the tour he takes the time to make sure you feel comfortable using the Segway and then you get to enjoy a nice cruise around the Downtown Austin. Highly recommended two hours of fun for anyone.
